Responsibilities
Mike is primarily responsible for development strategy for our clients through their phases of planning, organization and campaign initiatives.  He also is experienced in volunteer leadership development, strategic planning and feasibility studies.  Mike has a unique ability to creatively examine an organization’s opportunities and challenges to develop a long-range plan of action.

Experience
Mike’s early background in journalism and advertising provided him with the skills necessary for successful consulting and strategy.  He began his philanthropic career in 1995 when he joined Hodge, Cramer & Associates.  At HCA, Mike led successful campaigns for the Des Moines Public Library, the Pickaway County District Public Library, Central Ohio Technical College and many others.  He also worked with the Grosse Point Public Library and the Ohio Association of Community College to establish their Foundations.  One of Mike’s career highlights was working with the Pro Football Hall of Fame to establish their development office and successfully position them for campaign.

In 2009 he joined Michelle Cramer to help form Cramer & Associates, Inc.

Professional and Personal Achievements

  • In 2003 Mike became a Certified Fund Raising Executive with above average scores in prospect identification, solicitation, donor relations, volunteerism and stewardship
  • Mike wrote the feature article in 2004 Ohio Libraries Magazine
  • Graduate of the AAFRC Consultant's Academy
  • HCA Presidents Award Recipient

Personal
Mike resides in the Newark-Granville area with his wife Dawn Egelston, their son Sam, daughter Rachel and their two border collies, Elvis and Elaine.  He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Granville.  He can often be found at the Granville Public Library wandering the mystery section or on the floor with his kids in the children’s area.
